AFT-O-Sorb™ U functions through Primarily composed of undecylenate esters, the AFT-O-Sorb™ U products primarily control malodors through two key mechanisms: Odor Neutralization/Counteraction and Masking.
Vapor-Phase Bonding: This mechanism involves the undecylenate molecule chemically or physically interacting with the malodor molecule (the "malsensory agent") while they are both in the air (the vapor phase.)
Reduced Perception: This interaction or bonding changes the malodor molecule's properties (such as its volatility or electron pattern) so that it is no longer perceived as malodorous by the human nose. The result is a sensory and analytically measurable reduction of the bad smell, not just covering it up.
Targeting Broad Malodors: Undecylenates are effective against a broad range of malodors, including sulfur-based compounds (like mercaptans), nitrogen-based compounds (like amines), and short-chain fatty acids, which are common in tobacco smoke, body odor, and decay.
